Verani Realty’s Bedford Agents Roll Up Their Sleeves for Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity
Team spends day volunteering, delivers $5,000 for house at 262 Lowell Street in Manchester
On a typical day, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty’s Bedford agents are on the road or in their offices, helping clients find their forever homes. But last week they laced up their work boots, rolled up their sleeves, and headed to a construction site instead to help build a forever home for a single mom, and they brought a big check with them.
Agents spent a volunteer day with Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity sawing, drilling, and hammering at 262 Lowell Street in Manchester. The property was once a duplex and is being transformed into a five bedroom, three bathroom house. It is Greater Manchester Habitat’s tenth house. In addition to lending their hands to the project, agents delivered a $5,000 check from VeraniCARES to help purchase supplies. VeraniCARES engages Verani Realty agents and employees in philanthropy and social development by giving them the opportunity to raise funds through donations. Verani Realty matches up to $10 per donation.
"Spending the day with Habitat for Humanity was a great opportunity for our agents to connect outside of the office, and it was a lot of fun," said Cammie Ferreras, Regional Manager of Verani Realty's Bedford office. "Most importantly, our time and our dollars are going to help a single mom and her kids have a forever home. Our office chose to donate to Habitat for Humanity because as Realtors, we see every day the important role that home plays in all of our lives. We can't wait to see the finished result for this family."
Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity assists local people in need by building and renovating houses. Houses are built or renovated through volunteer labor and donations of both money and materials. When complete, houses are sold at no profit and financed with affordable loans for local families, who Habitat calls “partner families,” and partner families’ mortgage payments are used to build more Habitat homes. Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity services Manchester, Hooksett, Candia, Auburn, Derry, Londonderry, Litchfield, Bedford and Goffstown.
