Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty Donates to Lazarus House Ministries

Lawrence, MA - October 18, 2019 - Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty hosted its third annual VeraniCARES Food Drive during the month of September. Verani Realty’s Massachusetts offices focused their efforts on collecting non-perishable foods and raising awareness for the Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence, MA. With the help of agents, staff, and clients more than double the amount of food was raised compared to last year, and an additional $5,000 was donated to the Lazarus House.

The Lazarus House has been welcoming individuals and families in need, providing emergency shelter, clothing, food and education programs since 1983. The Lazarus House has played a significant role in breaking the cycle of poverty in the Merrimack Valley region. “Less than 1% of our income is from government sources, so Lazarus House relies on the generosity of our many donors. We serve people without the restrictions of government funding. This allows us to care for the individual rather than lead with specific service mandates and constraints, therefore, motivating our guests to rise above poverty with dignity and respect.”

Verani Realty has always had a commitment and dedication to help better the community. In late 2015 VeraniCARES was established and it has quickly become a big part of the company’s identity. Since inception, VeraniCARES has donated over $250,000 to more than 50 local organizations. Agents and staff alike give their time and energy by participating in the many VeraniCARES volunteering and fundraising events which take place all throughout the year. Many Verani Realty agents also donate a portion of their commission to VeraniCARES which is matched by the company.
