Not every Realtor is Really a REALTOR
Not every tissue is a Kleenex , every cola is a Coke and not every REALTOR is really a REALTOR.
Most people don’t understand the difference and often use the terms interchangeably. A REALTOR is a brand, a registered trademark and only to be used by those real estate professionals who are members of the National Association of REALTORS and who subscribe to the Code of Ethics in their daily practice. The Golden Rule is the backbone of the National Association of REALTORS and the Code of ethics is the glue that binds it all together. This is held in the highest regard.
Anyone can earn a real estate license and call them selves a professional but only those that join the National Association of REALTORS and conduct themselves in accordance to the rules and bylaws can actually call themselves a REALTOR.
There are huge benefits of working with a REALTOR, as in many cases it involves a higher level of training and skills, the use of association approved forms and tools. Many REALTORS pride themselves in earning designations and realize that they are charged with assisting the consumer in what is often the largest financial and emotional decision of their life. This is something that REALTORS do not take lightly. REALTORS are true community builders and know how important their role is. To become a REALTOR and real estate agent must apply; pay yearly dues and complete mandatory ethics education. Is your realtor really a REALTOR?
