Lindsey Goodrich Visits New Horizons
Lindsey Goodrich, Advisor of Verani Realty’s Commercial Division, recently visited New Horizons. Lindsey dedicates a portion of her time once per month volunteering at the New Horizons facility located in Manchester, New Hampshire. During her time at New Horizons, Lindsey prepares vegetables, silverware, etc. for dinner the night of. Additionally, she organizes dry goods and produce which is donated to the members of the community and local grocery stores.
New Horizons was formed in 1973 to assist low-income persons and address social issues they face. Today, New Horizons is an adult homeless shelter, soup kitchen, food pantry, and Angie’s shelter for women. Over the past year, New Horizons has provided 23,443 bed night-in shelters, served 73,444 meals at their soup kitchen and given out 12,134 grocery bags by their food pantry to those in need.
On the shelter site, clients gain access to several case management services, medical and mental health services, substance abuse counselling and more. Angie’s Shelter for Women provides a safe structured, home-like environment to clients who have access to support and services while working to rebuild their lives. The shelter is open to women who are 18 years and older. The soup kitchen serves breakfast for shelter guests daily as well as serves a complete dinner to seniors (over 50 years of age) from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the weekdays and for individuals; children and their families, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The soup kitchen serves more than 200 meals each day. New Horizons staffs and runs Families in Transition’s soup kitchen, providing dinner to the members of the public seven (7) days per week.
The food pantry provides groceries to impoverished families and individuals who live in Manchester, NH. The amount provided to each household is dependent on family size. Along with non-perishable food items, fruits, vegetables, meats and bakery items are also available. Many items are donated by local grocery stores and restaurants including Hannafords, Whole Foods, the Fruit Center, Coca-Cola, Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Utz, and Chipotle Mexican Grill to name a few. New Horizon’s food pantry provides food to more than 900 households each month.
Lindsey Goodrich specializes in the sale and lease of retail, industrial and office as well as multifamily properties throughout Southern NH as well as Northern and Central Massachusetts. She typically works with business owners, new and seasoned investors and developers. Lindsey is a commercial Advisor with 14 years’ experience in the business. Lindsey is an active member of CIBOR, the New Hampshire Association of REALTOR®’s and is involved in the special events committee. She is also an active member of GMNBR (Greater Manchester Board of REALTOR®’s). Lindsey is involved with various other networking groups to best serve her clients and is one of few young woman brokers in commercial real estate in New Hampshire.
