Biography

    Hello, my name is Simon Verkaik and I want to welcome you to the Upper Valley. I'm currently licensed in New Hampshire and Vermont as a REALTOR®. My family and I moved to Vermont in 2004 because my parents were attracted to the peace and beauty of this area. I was 13 years old when I arrived here and began attending school in Woodstock, VT. My family sought to leave the suburban landscape of southern Connecticut for the rolling hills of Barnard,VT, where they bought an old sugaring farm built in 1795, with over 200 acres of land nestled in a beautiful valley and views that were made for postcards. This is when I first fell in love with all that the green mountains have to offer. From lazy river tubing in the summer to snowboarding at Killington in the winter, or indulging year-round in the area’s incredible farm-to-table cuisine, this area has it all!  

     I remember getting my first job at the Barnard Inn Restaurant when I was 14 and I've worked in the industry ever since.  More recently, I've been bartending and serving at Murphys On The Green and at Impasto, both located in Hanover, NH. I've met so many wonderful people here and have established myself as one of the main bartenders in town. With my extensive knowledge in hospitality and 18 years of experience, I have developed my ability to work extremely well under pressure, while efficiently executing thoughtful customer service. I have found that my strong work ethic lines up well with my passion for helping people and creating long-standing relationships with those in my community. My father always instilled in me the values of integrity and being a man of your word, as well as the golden rule: treat others how you want to be treated. It is with this approach, coupled with the constant drive to be my best self, that I aspire to put every ounce of energy toward helping you through all of your real estate needs with ease and comfort. If I can leave you happier than when I met you, that will bring me joy and peace. I'd love to utilize my extensive knowledge of the community to show you all of the fantastic things this area has to offer. I hope I can be the one to welcome you to the Upper Valley!
